Are you passionate about the electrotechnical industry? Could you use your experience and enthusiasm to inspire the next generation to choose a career in the sector?
TESP (The Electrotechnical Skills Partnership) is asking the industry to lend their skills and industry experience to connect with young people and inspire them to become the next generation of electrical professionals.
TESP is working with the UK-wide STEM Ambassador Programme to ask people from all walks of the industry to become an ‘Electrotechnical Ambassador’.
The Electrotechnical Ambassador scheme is flexible and allows you to volunteer in a way that suits you. It could be in person, in schools or in community groups or virtually to reach a wider audience.
Training and support are provided by your local STEM Ambassador Hub, so it is up to you to choose/offer the activities you have the time for and feel comfortable getting involved with. Becoming a STEM Ambassador brings a lot of personal benefits and also has a positive impact on the lives of young people.
For employers looking to engage with careers promotion activity, encouraging staff of all ages to volunteer as Ambassadors is a great way to not only motivate employees, but also improve local recruitment and raise your profile.
