In conjunction with the Cork Foundation and Re-Imagine Cork, other firms involved in the works include P.J. Hegarty & Sons, Purcell Scaffolding Cork Ltd, Substruck Ltd, Edward Feehely Decorators Ltd, O’Shea’s Builders (Cork) Ltd and MMD Construction Cork Ltd.
Upcoming projects include ‘Lighting the Lanes’, a project being carried out by Sean Ahern Electrical Ltd in Dalton’s Lane, Colman’s Lane, Daltons Avenue, Dalton’s Avenue and Augustine’s Street. Other work being undertaken includes painting at Grattan Street Carpark (painting contractor Eddie Feehilly with paint sponsored by Pat McDonnell Paints) and an installation of ‘History of Cork Art Mural’ in Grattan Street Carpark (installation by O’Shea Builders Ltd & PJ Hegarty & Sons Ltd).
The aim of the projects is to get the public using these historic public spaces in even greater numbers which will help enhance not only the public realm for the residents of Cork City Centre but also enhance the visitor experience to what is Cork city centre’s historic core.
