It is just over a year since the Ovia lighting brand was officially established in Ireland. With the help of a dedicated team, the company has brought a comprehensive range of lighting and lighting control solutions to the country.
Ovia Ireland was set up as a stand-alone business that fully replicates the Ovia business operation in the UK, with access to the same extensive product range, marketing and technical support, and new product development. The company is headed by Dan Hope, a well-known figure in the lighting industry, who operates as National Sales Manager and is supported by a group of area sales managers to cover the whole island.
The dedicated, fully-operational Ovia Ireland premises at Holly Road Western Industrial Estate commands a 10,500 sq. ft area and has undergone a complete refit. It now comprises offices, a substantial warehouse and collections area, training facilities, and a purpose-designed showroom. The company is proud to operate a fast collections service from 8 am to 4 pm from Monday to Friday. The warehouse has the capacity for 700 SKUs, which equates to some 85,000 individual products.
The purpose-designed showroom has been welcoming visitors over the last few months. It was designed as a facility to showcase and demonstrate the growing range of lighting solutions to customers. The showroom has already hosted a range of events including product launches and demonstrations, and training sessions for customers, and it will also be used for corporate and industry events. The premises have welcomed wholesalers, contractors, consultant engineers, and architects and Ovia also plans to hold CPD training sessions at the space in the near future.
New Ovia catalogue available
Ovia’s latest catalogue was launched in August and showcases more than 900 individual product lines. The guide offers an extensive collection of luminaires, and installers are guaranteed to find a lighting solution in the Ovia range to fit every kind of project. All sectors are covered, including domestic, commercial, industrial, utility, amenity, emergency lighting, and floodlighting. The lighting offer is further enhanced by a full range of lighting control solutions that will optimise energy-saving credentials.
Contractor engagement
Engagement with contractors has been a key element in driving Ovia’s new product development programme. The feedback from people working on the job and often in challenging environments is an invaluable source of information, as it helps the company gain constructive insight into how contractors like to work, the issues they face, and what they need to do their work in the most time-efficient and cost-effective way.
The future is bright
Twelve months after the launch, National Sales Manager Dan Hope highlights Ovia Ireland’s achievements: “We are delighted with the success that we have enjoyed so far. The focus has always been on bringing contractor-friendly, innovative products to the Irish market, and that will continue.
