Scan Alarms system designers have kept the company at the forefront of new technology, in more recent times with the progression from analogue to IP HD CCTV systems and IP access control and latterly with the use of IP video analytics software. Video analytics may be used for conventional intruder detection in external secure areas, facial recognition at entrances to premises and, increasingly, to provide retailers with detailed marketing information such as people counting, queue length management, heat mapping of directional travel around the shop floor and loitering at special offers within the retail area.
