The Electrical Industries Charity has come is helping to beat the blues with this year’s Electric Ball. Taking place on Saturday, November 24 at the Europa Hotel, Belfast, the popular, annual event will be headlined by renowned tribute act, The Briefcase Blues Brothers alongside TV presenter, John Daly, who will be the host for the evening.
As Jake and Elwood stated in the famous movie, ‘Everybody needs somebody’ and with a new venue, new date and new faces as well as an array of prizes, this is a great way to bring the industry together in aid of its charity!
With over 1,000 shows under their belt, The Briefcase Blues Brothers have been performing their high energy act for over 15 years to amazed audiences at home and abroad – all in the inimitable and enduring style of The Blues Brothers. Recreating the energy, excitement and atmosphere of John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd performing as their characters Jake & Elwood Blues, the night will include all the famous songs from the movie and live albums along with other classics of Soul, Blues, and Rhythm & Blues.
Keeping the night under control will be well-known Northern Ireland TV presenter, John Daly, who has worked across the BBC and RTE on a number of popular shows. The event is held in aid of the Electrical Industries Charity and will help the current drive towards addressing the lack of awareness surrounding mental health in the electrical sector.
Now reaching more people across the industry than ever before and having given back nearly £1million in services last year alone, the EIC needs your contribution to events like this in order to keep the momentum going.
The Electrical Industries Charity CEO, Tessa Ogle, said, “Northern Ireland has one of the sparsest mental health support services in the UK. Wait times in Belfast are the longest I’ve ever seen. First round psychiatric assessment following an attempted suicide is 22 weeks. The Electrical Industries Charity has been there to fill a void in mental health awareness and support in our field.”
