ETT launches new online examination system

In November 2015 City & Guilds introduced improvements to the examination system for the  2394 and 2395 inspection and testing courses. The traditional two-hour written paper element has been replaced with a more convenient online system. The new system will retain the short question/answer format.

Candidates will, however, be required to type their answers on screen. Those with limited typing skills need not worry, the system has been developed to minimise typing input, and there will be no loss of marks for spelling errors, provided the marker can understand the answer. The introduction of the online system will mean quicker turnaround of results and more flexible exam dates.

ETT has recently put a number of candidates through the new 502 exam, including Michael Thompson, Contracts Manager with JBE, who was impressed by the change.

“This is a step in the right direction,” said Michael. “The industry is moving forward with new technologies so it’s good that the training and exams are too. I think everyone will benefit from swifter feedback on the all-important results.”
