A positive working relationship and an emphasis on collaboration have allowed Excel Electrical and Kellihers to deliver a top class electrical package to the Holy Family Primary School in Rathcoole, Co Dublin.
The new facility, which was designed by McCullough Mulvin Architects and built by Ganson, is a two-storey extension and refurbishment of the existing school. Associated works to the site included the installation of an attenuation tank, development of a new car-park and set down area. An extremely tight site meant all the teams involved in the build had to work very closely together to ensure the new school was built to the highest possible standard. The existing 1970’s school was also upgraded in line with the new, modern extension.
Excel Electrical provided a first-class, full electrical install to the new school. This included a new emergency lighting system, a new fire alarm system, CCTV, door access, structured cabling and a new public address system. All electrical elements required for the new facility were expertly provided by Excel Electrical, a firm that’s no stranger to educational projects.
“We have worked with Ganson in the past and so we were familiar with how they operate and, indeed, they know how we operate too. This was a straightforward project and no particular challenges cropped up during the installation. We’re well used to educational facilities and knew what was required,” said David Treacy at Excel Electrical.
The firm has also worked with Kellihers Electrical on several projects in the past. A collaborative approach between the two companies and a determination to meet the deadline meant the electrical installation was completed to schedule and to the highest standard.
Products supplied by Kellihers to the new school extension included Thorn lighting, MK wiring accessories, Schneider wiring accessories and Nexans data cabling and connectors. Kellihers prides itself on only stocking and supplying market- leading products from some of the world’s top manufacturers. When it comes to durability and quality, the company is happy to stand over its product ranges.
Products were delivered to site promptly, allowing David and the rest of the team at Excel Electrical to get on with the job without delay.
David added, “Deliveries were made to site exactly when we needed them, which allowed us to get on with the job. We source electrical products from Kellihers on a regular basis. We know that they’re dependable and we’re confident that the products we’re supplied with are of the highest quality.”
