ELECTEX 2020 is officially on the rebound. Ireland’s premier electrical trade show, originally planned for the second week in October at the CityWest Hotel, has now been re-scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, October 28/29 at an exciting new venue, the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght.
The HSE decision to use the Citywest as a ‘Self-isolation facility’ for the duration of the Coronavirus crisis forced us into a hasty courtside shuffle. A quick brainstorm and a few phone calls later and ELECTEX was heading to Tymon Park, Dublin 24, and the 2,500 capacity arena first opened back in 1993. Situated close to the M50 motorway, the National Basketball Arena is an accessible and exciting new home for an event that will take on added significance.
We need events like ELECTEX that will afford us the opportunity to once again rub shoulders with our colleagues and contemporaries, to break out of the isolation and once again celebrate the best the industry has to offer.
ELECTEX Belfast is also back up and running. Part of the BEPEX trade show that also incorporates PLUMBEX and BUILDEX, it will now take place on Wednesday/Thursday, March 10/11, 2021 at the magnificent Eikon Exhibition Centre near Lisburn.
Not for a second are we ignoring the severity of the current situation, nor the pain and suffering that will inevitably impact on unfortunate families. But we have to stay positive. We have to believe we can get through this. ELECTEX Dublin and Belfast have a role to play in this.
