EIC Lunch hailed a huge success

A tremendous amount was raised at the recent Electrical Industries Charity ‘Electric Lunch’ to support those in the industry effected by co-occurring conditions...

Electric Industries Charity (EIC) NI branch held its annual Electric Lunch at the Europa Hotel, Belfast on Friday, 1 April. Over £25,000 was raised during the afternoon which will benefit many individuals within the electrical sector as well as their families. Hosted by Adrian Logan, guests enjoyed a great day of entertainment which included a Sports Trivia Quiz, raffle and an interview with Northern Irish footballing royalty, Pat Jennings. The charity theme for this year is all about co-occurring conditions such as addiction and mental health. The money raised at the EIC Lunch will go directly to supporting those effected by providing help services to anyone in the electrical trade who needs help to overcome their problems. Events, like this one, go a long way in helping to change many lives in Northern Ireland.

Comments from those in attendance praised the organisers for a “professional and well organised event.” Another guest said: “Congratulations to you and your team, the lunch was an excellent event, very professional and enjoyed by all. It was what the industry needed after two long years. Sum raised is outstanding!”

Speaking about the success of the event, EIC (NI branch) Chairperson, Karen McAvoy said: “On behalf of the branch committee I would firstly like to thank each and every person who attended the lunch. This year seen the largest number of guests as well as the highest amount of funds raised. We are just thrilled with the total amount of money raised which will support so many people within the industry.”

Karen added: “I’m sure everyone will agree that it was an excellent opportunity to meet with old and new faces and I would like to particularly thank our host, Logie and of course Pat Jennings for both of their input on the day.”

EIC are hosting two further fundraising events this year. Summer Day at the Races will take place on Friday, 3 June at Down Royal Racecourse and the Golf Day at Lough Erne Luxury Golf Resort is happening on Thursday, 18 August.
