Ansell Lighting has recently launched its connected lighting solution, OCTO.

The Casambi-powered system allows installers to choose from numerous smart lighting fixtures which are effortless to install and even easier to operate. Create lighting scenes, set timers or control lighting from images on a smart device, with OCTO consumers can benefit from complete wireless control of their luminaires Simple to install and easy to use via an intuitive app or smart accessories, the OCTO ecosystem enables complete control in a variety of applications from home to office and even warehouse spaces. Making it the perfect tool for domestic or commercial environments.

To coincide with the launch, Ansell has held numerous training sessions that inform and educate installers and wholesalers on their connected offering. The first Octo Day was hosted in Belfast recently as part of the launch of their new showroom, with Ansell hosting five training sessions in one day to meet demand. The sessions gave contractors an opportunity to learn more about the Octo product range and to watch practical demonstrations about how the system works as well as getting hands on with the product.

Ansell provides a step-by-step course that will ensure electrical contractors become a certified OCTO Guru and after the feedback from Belfast, the company is excited about the potential of the new range. Dan Hope, National Sales manager ROI said, “The reaction has been very positive , we are delighted with the initial interest in our product range. The contractors immediately grasped the opportunities of Octo and how it can be an important addition to what they offer their customers.”

Marketing manager Rachel Morris commented on the training initiative ‘’We identified a knowledge gap within the industry surrounding connected lighting, which is to be expected with any new technology. We wanted to address this by holding live demonstrations and interactive workshops on OCTO. The turnout so far has been fantastic. What we are hearing from contractors is that they want to know as much as possible about this new technology and how they can up- sell to their clients.”

To support and reward installers who have invested in their connected lighting range Ansell has also created an exciting incentive scheme that rewards them for installing the technology that is revolutionising the way in which their customers can utilise lighting. The Guru/Master reward scheme allows Electrical contractors who register for the scheme to upload information from their latest installations and keep track of their progress via their online portal. As contractors progress through the scheme, they are rewarded with fantastic incentives, including Amazon vouchers, BOSE speakers and an array of OCTO products.
