It has been a remarkable period of growth at Specialised Fire & Security. From humble beginnings just six years ago, the Belfast business has just completed its second move into larger and more modern premises.
And in another signal of intent, the company has welcomed Tom Skates to a Technical Sales position. Tom brings with him over 25 years’ experience in the industry and is determined to help take the company to the next level.
As well as new premises and staff, Specialised Fire & Security has also been investing heavily in its existing staff with engineers receiving extensive further training in health & safety, first aid, manual handling, IPAF and Plasma training. The company is proud to be in the final stages of completing its NSI Gold accreditation. Manufacturer training is ongoing and all staff CSR cards are fully up to date.
“It’s certainly a busy and exciting period for the company,” said Specialised Fire & Security Contracts Director, John Moore. “The new premises, staff training and NSI Gold accreditation are all about taking the company to the next level. We want to be continually moving forward. Every day is a school day and every day is a challenge as we bring in more staff and more clients.” However John was quick to stress that despite the period of growth and expansion, Specialised Fire & Security still maintains the highest levels of customer service from delivery, servicing and through to after sales.
“We are determined to grow and raise the profile of our company but not at a rate that is not manageable – we will always keep our customers happy.
“A key part of our growth and expansion has been welcoming Tom to the team. He is a great fit for our company. He has already hit the ground running and brings extensive industry experience with him. Tom is exactly the kind of team player we want but I should say that our recruitment process is not over. If the right industry person, who is a good fit with us and can lift our business comes along then we will be seeking to bring them on board – Tom is a prime example of this.”
Operations Director, Stephen Jeffrey said Specialised Fire & Security is proud to be working with industry- leading companies such as Kentec, Hochiki and Wangner. “It is important for us to have the continued support from these companies,” said Stephen. “When they bring out new and exciting products we have complete access to them.”
Hochiki is a company which is certainly familiar to Tom Skates. “I have been working with Hochiki for many years as they have the most reliable fire alarm equipment on the market,” said Tom.
