Aperta – the new name for ESP’s access control range

The revamped range will come under the umbrella name Aperta – the Italian word meaning to open, allow access, passage, or a view through a space – and has been designed with ease of installation and operation as key features.

With just two main components – door station, with optional access control keypad and the hands-free monitor – the Aperta range will allow the creation of anything from a single door entry system to a multi- usage system.

The Aperta access control range offers superb video and audio quality and comprises the following products:

  • Two door entry kits; the APKIT includes a colour monitor and door station, while the APKITKP includes colour monitor and door station with door release option via the keypad. They will both connect up to 4 monitors.
  • Multi Apartment Door Station (APDSMW), which includes door release via keypad and will connect up to 32 handsets.
  • Optional monitor with GUI (graphic user interface) menu incorporated for advanced options and includes SD card record facility.

The Aperta video door entry systems utilise two-wire technology, which offers many benefits and advantages over traditional video door entry systems. For simplicity and for time-efficient installations, the two-wire technology provides a friendly platform by reducing the number of cores required for connection and requires just one power supply unit. This ensures that just one PSU needs to be concealed and supplied with just a single electrical mains supply.

ESP has developed new instruction manuals to support the range. They are designed to enhance the simplicity of installation, by incorporating easy-to-follow, step-by-step graphics which take the user through the installation and programming processes.

DEVELOPMENTS
The launch of the Aperta range adds to recent developments in ESP’s range of access control products, with the addition of the EVBPSBB Power Supply and the EZ-TAG3 keypad and proximity reader. The ESP EVBPSBB is a new power supply with battery back-up for lock releases which has been added to the accessory collection.

For use with its single-way and multi-way door entry systems and access control systems, the 2 amp 12vDC boxed power supply will help maintain the security of your door from intermittent and prolonged loss of power, and thus provide reassurance. It is designed to offer simple install and wiring connections, supports 12vDC battery backup and comes with battery leads supplied. It also provides output for fail-safe and fail-secure lock, and 12vDC output control for auxiliary devices. Featuring an adjustable 20-second timer control for lock output and power indication LED, it is ideal for those installations that require round-the-clock door security, such as schools, hospitals and care homes.

ESP has also recently launched the EZ-TAG3 – a sleek new keypad and proximity reader, designed to provide a compact, durable and vandal-resistant solution for a wide variety of access control applications.

EZ-TAG3 replaces the previous EZ-TAG2 version, to introduce a more sophisticated model with additional benefits, which include a doorbell function, as well as new, improved, easy programming to facilitate installation. This IP65-rated, weatherproof, combined access control keypad with proximity tag or pin code activation can accommodate up to 1,010 key tag holders or pin numbers.

EZ-TAG3 is available as a controller-only, for the upgrade of existing systems, or as part of a handy kit format, which provides all the elements required for a professional system installation in a single convenient, boxed unit.
