Hager IoT Controller connects the worlds of IP and KNX

If you open yourself up to the world of tomorrow, there is no getting past these three letters: IoT. The Internet of Things complements the conventional computer with smart objects. These are being used more and more and help us with our daily lives.

It’s no wonder that smart objects are also starting to move into the smart home – from light and heating control systems to security services and home entertainment. Many well-known manufacturers and innovative start-ups are now offering attractive IoT products. The Hager IoT Controller lets you combine the different offerings and steer them in the right direction – towards the KNX building control system.

THE BRIDGE BETWEEN IP AND KNX
The Hager IoT Controller connects the world of IP with the world of KNX. All threads come together in the secure casing of the technical centre, both real and virtual. To be precise: both wired and wireless (Wi-Fi).

In this way, the IoT Controller is building a solid multi-lane bridge into the future. As with all our smart home solutions, our ‘ road’ is the established KNX standard. This offers you and your customers maximum planning security and future reliability, as well as high flexibility and adaptability. No matter what the future holds – you can rely on the new Hager IoT Controller.

TJA560 IOT CONTROLLER The TJA560 IoT
Controller from Hager for DIN rail mounting lets you integrate ‘Internet of Things’ products and cloud services from different manufacturers into KNX building control.

This allows individual, automated functions such as home entertainment, lighting, heating or cameras to be centrally operated via the KNX bus – using the KNX room controller, touch control or buttons on the wall, as well as via smartphone, tablet or laptop using the domovea TJA450 server. You can even link functions from different manufacturers’ devices to complex scenarios. For example, a ‘good morning’ scenario might combine bathroom lighting with your favourite radio station on the Sonos Home Sound System. It is also possible to create AAL functions such as ‘hall light on’, ‘turn up bedroom heat’ or ‘oven off’ using Amazon Echo voice control. The IoT Controller comes factory equipped with the apps of major providers such as Philips, Sonos, Netatmo and Amazon, and is updated continuously.

As a fundamental feature, all KNX systems programmed using ETS or easy, Hager’s start-up tool, can be expanded with the new IoT Controller. Using the IoT server, electricians can integrate the burgeoning Internet of Things into KNX systems, without having to learn a new technology.
